Boxers ready to touch gloves at 'Warner Center War' Art of Boxing Promotions will present its inaugural show, billed as the "Warner Center War," at the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills Fri., Nov. 2. The main event features top contender Juan "El Pollo" Valenzuela, who carries a record of 20-6 with nine knockouts. Valenzuela has quickly moved up the rankings by beating notables such as Julio Diaz and 2000 Olympian Ricardo Williams. He was scheduled to face current WBA Champion Miguel Cotto when, during the pre-fight eye examination, the doctors discovered an injured retina. Valenzuela's eye has been treated by specialists, and he has been cleared to fight again. Also fighting at the Warner Center Marriott will be Jorge "Kid Flash" Diaz from Van Nuys, along with Francisco Javier Garcia, Art Hovhannesyan and Glendale's Vardan Gasparyan. Tickets priced at $40, $50 and $65 are available by calling (818) 521-2373. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the first bell rings an hour later. Scheduled for special appearances are hall of fame trainer Freddie Roach, six-time world champion James "Lights Out" Toney, 2004 Olympian and undefeated prospect Vanes Martirosyan, WBC Super Bantamweight champion Israel Vasquez and former WBC Flyweight champion Brian Vilora.
