Youth sports, good training for life As a parent of a 12-year-old and a 9yearold, I applaud the existence of youth sports in our area. We are very fortunate to have many different activities to choose from for our kids. However, there are still families who are hesitant about joining a sports program. What if our kids don't like it? We don't have the time. We can't make it to practice or the games. Too busy. The reasons go on and on. When my oldest joined a sports team I hadn't the foggiest idea what to expect. And you know what? We loved it. Youth sports teaches kids how to work as a team, the importance of hard work, activity, fitness etc. These are life lessons. The United States on a whole is getting fatter. This generation of kids will probably be the first one with a life expectancy of less than the one before it. Pretty serious stuff. So take advantage of the youth sports in our area. Get your kids in WAGS, AYBA, AYSO, Agoura Pony Baseball or one of the many other ones available. And you know what? They might just love it too.
