The best decorations around

•Agoura Hills resident Illece Buckley Weber says pay a visit if you dare to the terrifying haunted house at 28920 Calabria Drive in Agoura Hills on Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m.to 8 p.m. It's the third annual haunted house courtesy of a group of Agoura High boys who are collaborating to create what they say is the best scare in town.

•Jack and Abby Filsinger, both 12, say they and their dad have built a great haunted house in their garage. They put up a cemetery in their yard, but it's the garage that's the main attraction this year. It will have an eerie art gallery, scary sound effects, pop-up props, and a chainsaw-wielding ghoul. The Filsinger display is open from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is at 27351 Park Vista Road in Agoura Hills.

•Lissa and Bill Krovetz live at 22737 Carsamba Drive in Calabasas, at the end of the cul-de-sac.Enter and you may not leave. The couple says they've decorated their entire hillside for fright night. "We have many new residents in our cemetery- monsters and ghouls, a 20-foot spider web, thunder, lightening and fog. Stop by for a scare," says Lissa Krovetz.

•Andrew and Kathryn Lane and Arlene McEdward invite trickor-treaters to come by 5438 Parkmor Road in Calabasas. The house is known for its cool special effects and big candy bars. There will be witches, zombies, ghosts, bats, big spiders and spider webs. Look for the large wicked tree in the front yard and the 8-foot gargoyle on the roof.

• Halloween is like a national holiday at the Castellon home on 26915 Deer Trail Court in the Deer Springs community of Calabasas. Celebrated in costume and décor, this year's theme is a "witches wedding." A gazebo altar supports the bride and groom while a cast of ghoulish characters join in as honorable guests. "Neighbors and friends will also be joining us," says Cim Castellon.

•Fog machines, lasers, pop-up props and a headless tricycle rider will be on display at the Jeff Johanson home on 4405 Beaconsfield Court in Westlake Village. A haunted house with a Jacobs latter and Tesla coil- a transformer that shows electrical currents- will be the featured attractions. Bring the little ghouls for a frightfully fun time. The house will be open for viewing until 9 p.m.on Oct. 31 and is available to local First Neighborhood kids.
