Dana Greenspan makes bid for board of education
By Stephanie Bertholdo bertholdo@theacorn.com

Dana Greenspan
Dana Greenspan is known as a tech guru, financial whiz and 21st century education visionary, and hopes her experience and ideas for change will prompt voters to elect her to the Las Virgenes Unified School District Board of Education on Nov. 6.

Greenspan is vying for one of two seats on the panel. Board President Terilyn Finders is up for reelection, and board member Pat Schulz has announced she will not run for reelection. Also running is Jill Gaines.

When Greenspan launched her career with Las Virgenes schools 14 years ago she embraced a twofold motto- to treat every child the way she wanted her children treated, and to work smarter, not harder.

"I still believe that today, and I've taken a leading role to ensure both are realized," Greenspan said.

As office manager at White Oak Elementary School in Westlake Village, Greenspan says she leads by example. She also works with the Las Virgenes Classified Association and jumped in to represent employees who were losing money each year to the spiraling cost of healthcare.

She is also the LVCA representative on the Technology Vision Committee, chairs the Technology Workflow Committee, and is cochair of the Health Benefits Committee.

Greenspan was named 200607 Classified Employee of the Year. She has spent about $1,600 on her campaign so far.
