Carol Kirschbaum stands out After listening closely to the four candidates at the Oct. 11 Westlake Village City Council forum, I believe that one of them really stands out among the others: Carol Kirschbaum. Carol demonstrated her depth of knowledge about current and past issues which are critical to the citizens of Westlake Village. She stressed her commitment and goals to keep Westlake a village community. I support her in this, as I am sure that this is the reason we all moved here. I particularly liked her idea of forming a Citizen's Advisory Committee with volunteer professional architects, designers, engineers, land use experts, and community members to help assist the City Council on future developments. I was impressed with her recommendation of requiring threedimensional renderings and overlays for projected sites, which would help provide us with a visual understanding of developments in relation to the surrounding areas. I would like to see how projects compare in height, setbacks, mass and footprint. I believe that Carol has the skills, leadership capabilities, and experience in negotiating which prior City Councils appear to have lacked. I am confident that real estate developers will not be able to make her "roll over and play dead." I believe that we will be extremely fortunate to have a person as qualified as Carol Kirschbaum serving on our City Council. Carolyn Davis Westlake Village |
