Philippa Klessig has proven herself

I love living in Westlake Village. I want to thank this and past City Councils for maintaining its beauty and community ambiance while being sensitive to the need for revenue to sustain the qualities that made me choose Westlake Village for my home.

It is not accidental that we have clean and well-maintained streets, excellent transportation services, full library access including Sundays, community service grants, multiple city parks, great liaisons with sports organizations like AYSO and with our local school district, an array of senior classes/activities, fabulous Friday family entertainment in the summer and on and on.

I have used or participated in each of the provided services listed. I am amazed that so much can be offered when my taxes cover only about 15 percent of the cost. Thanks to judicious planning on the part of the City Council, our city has developed responsibly to generate the 85 percent remainder while at the same time keeping it a really special place to live.

Again I say it is not accidental that we are this fortunate. Our City Council has worked diligently and Philippa Klessig has been instrumental in making this come to fruition. I agree with The Acorn editor that "Klessig has the best interests of the city at heart and has been a hard worker." (Acorn editorial, 10/04/07). I will vote for Philippa Klessig because she has proven herself to reflect what I appreciate about Westlake Village. Bicky Rippe Westlake Village
