Travel the universe at CLU

Andrew Fraknoi will present "If It's Tuesday, It Must Be Jupiter: A Grand Tour of the Universe" at 10 a.m. Mon,, Oct. 22 in California Lutheran University's Samuelson Chapel, 60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.

Fraknoi is the chair of the astronomy department at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills and an educational consultant for the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. He has written or coauthored 14 books on astronomy and is the lead author of "Voyages Through the Universe," an astronomy textbook. The International Astronomical Union has named an asteroid after him.

Frankoi will present the universe as astronomers understand it today and will illustrate the tour with color images from probes, the Hubble Space Telescope and the largest ground telescopes.
