Third annual Reyes Adobe Days kicks off in Agoura tomorrow

The city of Agoura Hills' third annual Reyes Adobe Days will be Fri. through Sun., Oct. 12, 13 and 14. The citywide festival features a variety of entertainment, music, cultural activities and recreation for all ages. In honor of its 25th anniversary this year, the city of Agoura Hills is planning a celebration of California's cultural past and present.

Three-day event schedule:

Fri., Oct. 12

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fiesta at the Adobe. Senior luncheon with entertainment and tours of the Reyes Adobe Historical Site. $8, advance purchase required. 5464 Reyes Adobe Road at Rainbow Crest Drive.

6:30 p.m. Miss Reyes Adobe Days Pageant. The Agoura Hills/ Calabasas Community Center, 27040 Malibu Road in Calabasas.

7 to 10 p.m. Hay Fever Teen Dance for grades six through eight. Deejay will teach latest dance moves. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Agoura Hills Recreation Center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Sat., Oct. 13

8:30 a.m. Bonanza on the Boulevard. Preparade circusstyle activities with food vendors takes place along Thousand Oaks Boulevard at Forest Cove Lane.

10 a.m. Reyes Adobe Days Parade. Grand Marshal Rainn Wilson from TV's "The Office" will lead the mile-long procession along T.O. Boulevard with floats, bands, clowns and antique autos.

11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Day at the Adobe. A family event at the Reyes Adobe Historical Site features early California music and dance, children's games, pony rides, art expo; demonstrations on blacksmithing, rancho cooking and adobe brick making; and free museum tours of the early-1800s period adobe home and barn. The event is free.

Sun., Oct. 14

8 a.m. Breakfast at the Adobe. A pancake breakfast, run and health expo with free blood, sugar and BMI testing by Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center will take place at Reyes Adobe Park, 30400 Rainbow Crest Drive. Breakfast is $5. The run is $20 for early sign-up or $25 at event, and the Family Run/Walk is $15 for early signup or $20 at the event. Fee includes T-shirt and breakfast.

9 a.m. Gymkhana. Horse Play Day open to all ages will be followed by a barbecue at the Old Agoura Equestrian Center, 5301 Chesebro Road in Agoura Hills. Fee to enter the Gymkhana is $5, or $25 for all six contests.

11a.m. Music at the Adobe. Concert lineup includes reggae, blues and African bands, with headlining Latin jazz performer Poncho Sanchez taking the stage at 2 p.m. Food vendors and children's activities will also be available, as well as picnicking. The event is free. Reyes Adobe Park, 30400 Rainbow Crest Drive.
