Ascension Lutheran Church's Early Childhood Center will celebrate its 40th anniversary Sun., Oct. 14 with a celebration during the 9:30 and 11 a.m. worship services at the church, 1600 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

During the services, students will sing, and former families and employees will be acknowledged. Cake will be served between services. The public is welcome.

The Early Childhood Center grew from a small room and 20 students to a facility that serves more than 80 families with children ages 2 to 5.

The Infant Center, which serves 12 infants from ages 3 months to 2 years, opened in 2005. The Early Childhood Center offers a Christ-centered learning environment that supports learning through hands-on experiences.
