Writers club to hear screenwriter
Professional will give his views on the industry

The California Writers Club, San Fernando Valley, will sponsor a program, "Screenwriting As A Martial Art" with David Titcher, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sat., Oct. 13 at the Encino Community Center, 4935 Balboa Blvd., Encino.

Titcher will share current perspectives on writing for the entertainment industry in a question-and-answer forum.

Titcher's screenwriting credits include "The Curse of King Tut's Tomb," "The Librarian- Quest for the Spear" and "Around the World in 80 Days" starring Jackie Chan.

He attended the UCLA screenwriting program where he worked with teacher Lew Hunter.

The cost for the forum is $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers.

The California Writers Club is a nonprofit educational corporation and hosts an open mike event the third Thursday of every month, 7 p.m., Borders Bookstore in Canoga Park, and will begin an open mike at Barnes & Noble in Encino on the second Friday of every month starting Oct. 12.
