Fall plant sale coming

The Theodore Payne Foundation will host a Fall Festival Fri., Oct. 12 through Sun., Oct. 14 at 10459 Tuxford St., Sun Valley.

Discounts will be offered on plants and seeds. Special vendors and free workshops will also be featured. Registration is not required for the workshops.

A free ethnobotany crafts workshop will be offered from noon to 1 p.m. Sat., Oct. 13. Oscar Ortiz, a cultural/environmental specialist who has worked in the Santa Monica Mountains for more than 20 years, will discuss the original uses and value of California native plants and show how to use them in crafts.

A pruning workshop will be taught by certified arborist Gary Knowlton from 1 to 2 p.m. Sat., Oct. 13.
