Bootique to offer scary good deals

HIGH SPIRITS- The ladies at Brookside Elementary School will be getting in the Halloween mood early when they attend the PTA's "Ladies' Spooktacular Bunco and Halloween Bootique" on Wed., Oct. 17.

Halloween fun is arriving early at Brookside Elementary School in Oak Park. Members of the school's PTA are busy planning a Ladies' Spooktacular Bunco and Halloween Bootique from 6 to 9:30 p.m., Wed., Oct. 17.

The evening will include a boutique featuring a variety of vendors for pre-holiday shopping, desserts to enjoy, and exciting prizes.

For those unfamiliar with the game of bunco, it's easy to learn said Lena Tucker, event chairperson. Tucker has been playing bunco for six years and loves it because "you don't have to think a lot yet there's a little bit of competition."

"It's such a simple game but a way to still be able to socialize," Tucker said. "This will be a fun night for moms to get to know new moms or to just have a great time and do a little shopping, too."
