Westminster hosts blood drive

Westminster Presbyterian Church will host a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sun., Sept. 23 at the church, 32111 Watergate Road, Westlake Village.

Every three seconds someone needs blood, according to United Blood Services, based in Ventura. The need may be due to an accident, surgery or cancer treatment.

"There's a huge demand for blood and even one more person donating blood can make a difference," said Jeff Robertson, blood drive chairperson for the church. Jeff is a 17-year-old senior at Oak Park High School.

The United Blood Services bloodmobile will be parked in the church parking lot.

Donors age 17 need parent permission to donate. Those under 17 will not be permitted to donate.
