New West Symphony opens season
Program includes works by Copeland, Gershwin

VERY GOOD YEAR- Stewart Goodyear will be a guest soloist with the New West Symphony under music director Boris Brott's baton. Featured pieces include works by George Gershwin and Aaron Copland. Tickets are priced from $25 and are available by phone, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at (800) NEW-WEST (639-9378).
The New West Symphony will open its 200708 Masterpiece Series season at 8 p.m. Sat., Sept. 15 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd.

The program includes Aaron Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" and George Gershwin's Concerto in F for Piano and Orchestra, "An American in Paris" and "Rhapsody in Blue."

New West Symphony music director Boris Brott will conduct three performances of the program with pianist Stewart Goodyear as guest soloist for the Concerto in F and "Rhapsody in Blue."

Goodyear is making his debut appearance as a guest soloist with the New West Symphony at these performances.
