Doesn't buy conspiracy theory As I read this week's Acorn (Aug. 30) I had to stop and check the date on the front of the paper after reading the letter "Conspiracy theory." Was it possible that this was another attempt by the staff of the Acorn to have a bit of fun at the reader's expense? April Fools' Day! Sadly, I don't think it is. It always amazes me how ridiculous people and their conspiracies can be. It's bad enough that people out there still believe the moon landing was staged. But when a respectable newspaper prints garbage like this it is pretty sad. Slow week on the newswire? I know there are many more important issues within our community than to give a platform to uneducated people like this. Sharry, you caught me on a bad day, and yes, I will say "at the risk of being called crazy," you are. Instead of taking pictures of airplanes, contrails, silent black helicopters and spending hours on the Internet, why not come back to reality and solve some real problems within your/our community? Freedom of speech is always touted as a reason to have to listen to stuff like this, and I agree with that right. I have always raised my children to not be afraid to speak out when they hear someone spouting fear and ignorance. So this is my reason for taking valuable time to refute your ridiculous diatribe. "Since the mindbending tragedy of 9/11"- what are you implying? Oh yes, I forgot our government did it. Not caused it but actually did the deed. This is infuriating to me and a vast majority of all Americans that people like you imply that the U.S. government was behind the mass murder of our innocent citizens. You insult me and every other veteran who volunteered and served time in our armed services to provide you the right to speak your ignorant statements. I would love to go on more, Sharry, but I have to forward these e-mails that will pay me millions from Bill Gates, stop drinking Coke because it eats away my stomach lining and of course help that poor man in that wartorn country that can't retrieve millions of his money without my help and money.
