Free workshop on home ownership

The Area Housing Authority will present a free workshop, "A Path to Home Ownership," from 6 to 7 p.m. Tues., Sept. 18 at the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, 2400 Ventura Blvd.

The class will inform low- and moderate-income households of local, state and federal programs that help with the financing of a home. The class also includes an overview of the tax advantages of homeownership; special financing options for first-time home buyers; tips on raising and maintaining a high FICO score; and an option to create a homeownership plan.
