Oak Park residents asked to complete community survey

A group of Oak Park residents want feedback from their neighbors about the community's quality of life.

The Oak Park Schools Community Group, an independent grass roots organization conducting the study, request that residents, with or without schoolage children participate in the Internet survey.

The short questionnaire asks why people move to the community and what they believe are the important issues facing Oak Park.

"One reason we decided to conduct this survey was to see how many community members were willing to provide feedback through a webbased survey," said Susie Harris, a group organizer.

Once information is tabulated, some of the general results will be shared with the Oak Park school board and the Municipal Advisory Council, Harris said.

The community group formed last spring after two school bond measures failed.

"Since bond measure affect our whole community and not just those community members with students enrolled in OPUSD, our group formed to try to help bridge the gap between the whole community and the OPUSD," Harris said.
