Agoura woman named president of Women Business Owners

Agoura resident Sandra Cherry was named as president of the board for the California Women Business Owners. Cherry will serve a two-year term, assisted by Miriam Shaffer Begg as treasurer and Colleen Phillips as secretary.

CWBO's objectives are to encourage business ownership by women; to support women business owners; to promote economic stability in businesses owned and operated by women; to share information of interest to women business owners; and to support legislation at local, state, and federal levels that will benefit women business owners.

An opportunity drawing is held at each meeting. The funds collected are given as scholarships to women in need.

Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at Maggiano's Little Italy in Woodland Hills. Networking begins at 5:45 p.m. Dinner is $30 for guests and nonreserved members, payable at the door.

To RSVP, go to the website www.cwbo.org. Call Cherry at (818) 706-3745 or (805) 374-1744 for additional information.
