Team walks to fight breast cancer

FOR A CURE- The Walkers for Knockers team has raised some $60,000 for breast cancer research to date. The team of 25 local women and men is hosting a fundraiser this weekend.
"Walkers for Knockers," a team of 25 women and men in the community, along with Lululemon Athletica in the Calabasas Commons, will hold a fundraising event at 9:30 a.m. Sun., Sept. 9 in the ongoing fight against breast cancer.

The team is made up of members from the Calabasas, Agoura, Thousand Oaks, Oxnard, Ventura and San Fernando Valley areas who are committed to fighting the disease.

To date, the team has raised more than $60,000 in donations from the local communities.

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 15 and 16 in Long Beach, where the team will be walking 39.3 miles to help fight breast cancer.

Many of the team members are walking in support of those currently undergoing treatment or breast cancer survivors, are survivors themselves, or are walking in memory of loved ones lost to breast cancer.
