Life in India is topic at Rotary Club lunch

Amarjit Singh Marwah
Today at noon the Calabasas Rotary Club presents guest speaker Dr. Amarjit Singh Marwah at the Native Cafe restaurant.

Marwah came to the United States in 1950 after winning the only Guggenheim fellowship in pediatric dentistry in India.

After completing a fellowship in New York, he joined the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago to pursue a master's degree in pathology, again on a fellowship offered by the university. After two years of graduate studies, he was again awarded a fellowship by Howard University to pursue a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

Marwah was president of the India America Society, the Bombay Los Angeles Sister City Committee, the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Foundation, and the Coordinating Council of India Association.

He has been a board member of the Navy League of America and a director of the State Bank of India, Los Angeles, and the Bank of Punjab, India.

Marwah has held teaching positions at the University of Illinois and USC.
