At The Library

Agoura Hills Library, a branch of the Los Angeles County Public Library, is at 29901 Ladyface Court, Agoura Hills (8188892278). All activities are at the library, which is presenting the following activities this month:

•Story times for children are Sept. 11 through Dec. 11. Preschool time for children ages 3 to 5 is Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Toddler time for children ages 1 to 2 is Wednesdays at 11 a.m.

•The library will host a backto-school ice cream social for teens, ages 12 to 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. Sat., Sept. 8. Teens can make their own sundaes, join an advisory group, learn about the library's databases and win a $10 Golden Spoon gift card.

•Adult programs will resume beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tues., Sept. 18 with Rip Rense, local author and journalist. He will present his new novel, "The Oaks," based on his years growing up in Thousand Oaks in the 1960s.

•The display case in the Friends' Reading Room is highlighting the work the Friends of the Agoura Hills Library do to support the library and the awards they have won, including the Conejo/Las Virgenes Future Foundation Community Service Award and city of Agoura Hills Certificate of Recognition.

•The Book Cellar, the Friends' used bookstore, is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The store sells donated books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and other items. Donations are always welcome and support the library.
