Square dance club invites the public to join the fun
Style is an American tradition

The most common dances are swing, ballroom, line dancing, Latin and hip-hop. These all emphasize the individual or two partners. Square dancing, on the other hand, is all about including the seven other people in the square and the many other similar squares around the room.

The Buckles and Bows Square Dance Club invites the public to learn this American tradition. Beginner classes will start Tues., Sept. 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hillcrest Center, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

The first lesson is free, and refreshments are served.

Classes are held every Tuesday at the same time through midMay except for holidays. A $5 donation is requested.

Couples and singles are welcome. Club members help newcomers learn in a supportive environment. Single student dancers are provided with a partner.

The dancing is done to the music of caller "Wild" Bill Horst. He serves as instructor, caller, entertainer and support staff.

For more information, call class coordinators John and Sybil at (805) 584-1482 or e-mail johnyd@aol.com.
