Agoura Hills

Three thefts were reported on Hillrise Drive Aug. 11. Someone stole $130 worth of tools, a pair of $200 sunglasses and $400 worth of CDs as well as keys, ammunition and a map book valued at $15 from a vehicle parked in the 29400 block.

The same culprits were said to have taken tools valued at $100, a $30 compressor and vehicle registration papers from a second vehicle parked on the same block.

As authorities investigated the reports, a neighbor told them that another car in the area also had been burglarized.

A male, 20, was arrested by Ventura County authorities on suspicion of drunk driving at 11:29 p.m. Aug. 13. He had been observed driving erratically on the eastbound 101 Freeway and was pulled over near the Reyes Adobe Road exit.

Calabasas

Thieves stole a $300 wallet containing $140 in cash and credit cards from an unlocked vehicle parked on Prado De La Puma on Aug. 10.

A purse containing a $400 MP3 player and $6 worth of coins was stolen at the Agoura/Calabasas Community Center on Malibu Hills Road on Aug. 4.

Vandals caused $350 in damage to the door of a vehicle parked in the 23500 block of Calabasas Road on Aug. 2.

Burglars stole a $1,100 GPS unit and a $380 camera from the kitchen counter of a home in the 3800 block of Declaration Avenue on July 10.

Thieves stole a $900 GPS unit from the dashboard of an unlocked vehicle parked on Dantes View Drive on May 22.

Hidden Hills

Thieves took a $280 car cover from a vehicle parked on Horsack Glenn on Aug. 6.

Oak Park

Ventura County Sheriff's deputies set up a DUI checkpoint on Kanan Road near Tamarind Street the evening of Aug. 17, resulting in a check of almost 600 vehicles. There were a reported six DUI arrests, including five Oak Park residents.

The loss was tallied at more than $400 after an unlocked vehicle was burglarized the night of Aug. 2 in the first block of Oakleaf Avenue.

In the first block of Pinewood Avenue, an unlocked vehicle was burglarized during the night of Aug. 2.

Westlake Village

Thieves stole $1,029 worth of photo camera equipment from the parking lot of a hotel where a June 5 photo session was taking place.
