Council candidate ready to try again

I would like to thank the 1,728 people who voted for me two years ago in the Agoura Hills City Council election. It was a significant improvement from the 523 votes I received in 2003, but still not enough to get sworn in as a council member. That is why I have decided to run again, and humbly ask for your vote and support this November.

As your council member I will propose Agoura Hills has a sister city in Israel, France, or both. Sister cities are great educational resources and we should choose one that reflects Agoura Hills' history and demographics.

As your council member, I will continuously work on improving traffic problems, like finishing the Kanan interchange improvements, and fixing and widening the Reyes Adobe freeway overpass.

As your council member, I will vote against the construction of any more office buildings. The concept of "Agoura Village" has in reality become "Office Village." We are saturated with office space, and I believe the residents of our city would prefer restaurants and retail shops over more office buildings.

As your council member, I will introduce new ideas and bring the City Council closer to the people. Our friends and neighbors are busy, and don't always have the time to attend the City Council meetings. I will propose the meetings are broadcast live on the Internet, and residents can email in comments and questions for the council.

Please allow me the honor and privilege of serving on the Agoura Hills City Council and representing you at city hall. I respectfully ask for your vote on Nov. 6. George Christopher Thomas Agoura Hills
