Public learns about water issues
WATER WORLD-- Left, Deborah Lowe describes
wastewater recycling procedures at the Tapia Water Reclamation Facility in
Calabasas. Members of the public were invited to take a tour of the water plant
last weekend. Below, Samantha Tsai, 10, of Westlake Village leans over a large
tank full of koi. The fish are placed in recycled wastewater to demonstrate its
cleanliness. Recycled water is used for irrigation. Potable water piped in
through the California Aqueduct is used for drinking.
