Calabasas offers babysitting, basketball programs

•A babysitting class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sat., Aug. 18 at De Anza Park. Participants will learn the business of babysitting, including family interviews, professional behavior, problem solving and decision making skills, telephone and household safety, age-appropriate toy selection, baby care basics and basic first aid. The cost is $40, plus a $25 materials fee.

•A recreation adult basketball league will begin in late August and will run eight to 10 weeks. Games will be in the gym at A.C. Stelle Middle School, 22450 Mulholland Hwy., Calabasas.
