Workshop to teach dealing with grief

The Westlake Church of Religious Science Spiritual Cinema Ministry will present the film "The Gifts of Grief" and a grief workshop from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sat., Sept. 8 at 880 Hampshire Road, Ste. V, Westlake Village.

Nancee Sobonya, a grief counselor and educator, directed and produced the film, an educational documentary that has been presented at conferences, churches, hospitals, hospices and film festivals.

The accompanying workshop is intended "to demonstrate and validate that grieving is a natural, healthy process (and) to identify how loss impacts and transforms our lives," according to a church spokesperson. The film will be used as a teaching tool for the workshop.
