Learn about the art and business of writing

California Lawyers for the Arts will present a free workshop on the art and business of writing novels and comics from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thurs., Sept. 6 at Border's Books, 1360 Westwood Blvd., Los Angeles. Checkin begins at 5:45 p.m.

The speaker will be Charlie Huston, author of "The Shotgun Rule" and other crime fiction. His website is www.pulpnoir.com.

Space is limited. Participants should register at least 24 hours in advance.
