Calabasas Civic Center reaches new heights
Construction on $40-million project at The Commons moves ahead- Officials celebrate as building's crown is moved into place

HIGH POINT- Left, workers prepare top beams for hoisting onto the Calabasas Civic Center. "Topping out" refers to the final piece of steel being lifted into place, indicating the structure has reached its maximum height. The complex will have a city hall, library and amphitheater. CAPPED- The Civic Center's uppermost steel is moved into place with an American flag and a small evergreen tree attached to it. Those gathered marked the event with speeches and a barbecue lunch.
