See 'Harold and Maude' under the stars
Topanga Nights will feature music and movies through Sept. 9

"Harold and Maude," the 1971 cult classic film, will be screened outdoors during Topanga Nights from 6 to 10 p.m. Sun., Aug. 12 at the Topanga Community Center, 1440 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd.

"Harold and Maude" stars Bud Cort as a death-obsessed youth and Ruth Gordon as an elderly woman with a zest for living. Ellen Geer, of Theatricum Botanicum, will introduce the movie and talk about her involvement in the film. Geer played Sunshine Doré, one of Harold's potential girlfriends. The film is rated PG but may not be suitable for younger children due to subject matter, nudity or frightening scenes.

Other entertainment will include the Jim Crawford and Friends band performing original rock 'n' roll. DJ Brother to the Night will play '70s-style music starting at 6 p.m.

The last Topanga Nights of the summer will be Sun., Sept. 9, featuring the film "Jeremiah Johnson" with Robert Redford and music by Old Bull.

Suggested donation is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and teens, and free for children 12 and under. For information, call (310) 455-2851 or e-mail Dianne@porchiaswish.com.
