Malibu Coast Music Festival coming
Concerts will be held each weekend

The second annual Malibu Coast Music Festival will be held at the Montgomery Arts House for Music and Architecture and the Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue from Aug. 24 through Sept. 3.

Concerts will be held each weekend, with midweek offerings of lighter fare and recitals. No tickets are required for entry to these events.

Following are the scheduled performances:

•Gala opening concert, 7:30 p.m. Fri., Aug. 24. Montgomery Arts House Great Room. Music of Mozart, Brahms and Purcell with the Malibu Coast Chamber Ensemble.

•Festival Concert I, 7:30 p.m. Sat., Aug. 25. Great Room.

•Festival Concert II, 3 p.m. Sun., Aug. 26, Montgomery Arts House Festival Stage. Music of Beethoven, Frank and Brahms with the Malibu Coast Chamber Ensemble.

•Old-fashioned Fish Fry, 6:30 p.m. Tues., Aug. 28, Great Room. Music of Beethoven, William Bolcom, Arthur Foote and Maria Newman with the Malibu Coast Chamber Ensemble.

•A Feast for the Ears and Eyes: Ballet, Silent Film and More. 7:30 p.m. Thurs., Aug. 30, Festival Stage. Malibu Coast Chamber Ensemble with resident festival artists and Malibu Coast Chamber Ballet.

•Festival Concert III, 7:30 p.m. Sat., Sept. 1, Great Room.

•Festival Concert IV, 3 p.m. Sun., Sept. 2, Festival Stage. Music of Brahms, Dohnanyi, Robert Russell Bennett and William Grant Still with Malibu Coast Chamber Ensemble.

•Labor Day Fantastic Finale, 4 p.m. Mon., Sept. 3, Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue, 24855 Pacific Coast Hwy., Malibu. Music of Bach, Bloch and Elgar with Malibu Coast Chamber Orchestra and special guest Cantor Marcelo Gindlin.
