In a Nutshell

A trio of three-story buildings will house the 86, Standard Pacificbuilt condominiums, which will sit on five acres of the Las Virgenes Road lot. Sixteen acres will be designated as open space.

In addition to building the condos, the developer will tackle more than $1 million in road improvements, including widening Las Virgenes Road to four lanes in front of the property. The improvements also include signaltiming coordination, traffic signal installation in front of the project and the construction of a landscaped median.

Standard has been trying to develop the land since 2002 when the company proposed a single-family residence project.

In accordance with the Regional Housing Needs Assessment, Calabasas must build 521 units by 2014, including 316 affordablehousing units. In the Standard Pacific project, nine of the units will be marked as affordable housing. Unit sizes will vary from 665 to 1,808 square feet.
