Theatricum presents shows

The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum presents the following events in August. The theater is at 1419 N. Topanga Canyon Road, Topanga.

•Platinum-selling singer/ songwriter Al Stewart and a special guest guitarist will plays Stewart's hits at 7:30 p.m. Sun., Aug. 5. Stewart will also give a "living room chat" about his life and creative inspirations with an on-stage interviewer.

Tickets are $35 lower tier and $25 upper tier.

Stewart is know for such songs as "Year of the Cat," "Time Passages," and "On the Border."

•Family Fundays with Peter Alsop's Kids Koncerts continue each Sunday in August. Shows are 11 a.m. except Aug. 12 which has two shows, 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. Shows feature storytellers and children's musicians. All seats are $8. Call the theater for the specific performer.

•Recording artist Inara George hosts a Tribute to Bessie Smith at 7:30 p.m. Sun., Aug. 26. Mike Andrews of The Greyboy Allstars performs, as well as other Los Angeles-based singer/ songwriters. Tickets are $35 lower tier, $25 upper tier.

The theater is outdoors and audience members should dress warmly for evening shows and bring cushions for bench seating. Snacks are sold on site and picnickers are welcome.
