Proud of our troops

It was with great love and support I felt as I read your story regarding Adam Bushore (July 12). We, too, are parents of a son who, like Adam, was accepted into officer candidate school with the United States Air Force and has pushed beyond intelligent, physical and mental limits to become the "best" that he can be.

Our son, Capt. Scott DiGioia, a first seat, B-1 bomber pilot, is being deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan end of this month. The public has no idea of the quality of our officers and pilots in the military. They are the "cream of the crop" of society.

Our son, as well as his wife and 1-year-old daughter, and his family sacrifice every day of dangerous training and flying in order to maintain the quality of life that the American public are blessed with.

We, the families of those who are sacrificing their lives, only ask for support, respect and prayers for our sons and daughters who sacrifice so much for them. DeAna DiGioia Westlake Village
