Let's look at healthcare

I was aghast and dismayed by the subject of Michael Moore appearing in the editorial cartoon of the July 19 Acorn. Anyone who had the opportunity to view his provocative movie "Sicko" would know he does not pretend to portray himself as an authority on healthcare, but rather his intent is to examine and expose the current crisis in our nation's healthcare system.

We are the only nation in the industrialized world without a national health coverage system. Moore indicts our representatives on both sides of the Congressional aisle as prostituting themselves to the demands of the pharmaceutical and insurance industries.

I am sure that any one of the more than 40 million Americans without health insurance coverage or the millions of others with coverage that is frequently denied or abridged would not see any humor in this cartoon. Ann Moyer Westlake Village
