Malibu Arts Festival to feature 250 artists

The 36th annual Malibu Arts Festival, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat. and Sun., July 28 and 29, will feature artwork by 250 award-winning painters, sculptors, photographers, jewelers and other artisans from across California.

The event is at the Malibu Civic Center, 23555 Civic Center Way. Admission is free, and parking across the street is $7.

Festival-goers can visit with the artists under individual white tents.

The fest includes daylong jazz, classical and blues music and the Children's Village with handson art creations and mural painting.

The Food Village will serve crepes, Cajun specialties, gourmet sausages and wraps, gyros, ice cream sundaes, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, salads, pastries and coffees.

The Chamber VillageBusiness Expo, hosted by members of the Malibu Chamber of Commerce, will issue a "Malibu Passport" card to all festival attendees, who can win prizes by visiting each member of the chamber.
