Civic Arts Plaza needs volunteers

Residents are invited to volunteer as Friends of the Civic Arts Plaza.

The annual cost of belonging to the Friends is $15 or $25 as a Patron. Friends have the option each year of renewing their membership and changing their level of participation.

The following volunteer opportunities are available.

•Onthejob training is provided for salespersons in the gift shop. Sales proceeds go to support children's performances. Volunteers are asked for a twiceamonth commitment.

•Tour guides show the theaters to visitors. Training is provided on an individual basis.

•"Office angels" receive and relay messages called in to the Friends. Volunteers do not need to leave home for this position and will be assigned a specific day and time.

•Usher trainees participate in a training course consisting of two, four-hour classes. Ushers are required to serve for at least three theater presentations per month. A $15 fee is required for name tag and tie or bow. The next training session will be on Aug. 15 and 18.
