Baseball tournament to raise funds for ALS patients

The Third Annual CytRx Strike Out Lou Gehrig's Disease All-Star Youth Baseball Tournament will take place today through Sunday in Thousand Oaks.

Produced by The Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the ALS Association, in conjunction with Conejo Valley Little League, the tournament will host youth baseball teams from throughout Central and Southern California in a four-day competition.

All proceeds from the event will go toward providing free patient services for people suffering with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and to help find a cure. To date the event has raised more than $125,000.

Opening ceremonies will take place today at 4 p.m. at Conejo Community Park in Thousand Oaks. Baseball Hall of Fame manager and T.O. resident Sparky Anderson will be available for interviews and autographs.
