Congratulations to Don Zimring

It is with great pleasure that I congratulate Dr. Don Zimring on his promotion to superintendent of the Las Virgenes Unified School District. I have been working with Dr. Zimring on a multitude of projects over the past nine years, first as the president of Agoura High School's Charger Circle, and then as a board member of the Las Virgenes Educational Foundation (LVEF).

I know Dr. Zimring has the intelligence, commitment, experience, ability, collaborative approach, and vision to be a very successful leader of the district.

Just a few years ago, Dr. Zimring was the interim superintendent for one year. During that brief time, among many important accomplishments, he initiated the middle school dean program, laid the groundwork for a successful bond measure, and increased communication with various groups throughout the district.

Dr. Zimring has always been a strong partner and supporter of the foundation. Because of him, LVEF is conducting its fifth consecutive high school summer school program, which so far has resulted in over $460,000 being donated to the district's schools, programs and services.

We deeply appreciate Dr. Zimring's role in working with the foundation to meet critical district needs not funded by the state of California.

The foundation board and I look forward to working closely with Dr. Zimring in the years ahead to successfully meet the challenges facing the district, and to deliver quality educational opportunities to its students.
