Garage sale will benefit Mark Blum's bikes, Santa Comes to Agoura toy driv

A garage sale to benefit the Santa Comes to Agoura and Beyond annual food and toy drive, along with Mark Blum's Mission with Bikes, will be held at the home of George Annino on Sat., July 14 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Annino lives at 6602 Maplegrove St. in Oak Park.

The Santa Comes to Agoura and Beyond organization, founded in 1979 by Annino, operates under the direction of the Agoura/Las Virgenes Optimists Club. One hundred percent of the donations are used to purchase groceries, blankets and other items for families in need.

Annino also wants to help Blum, since Blum's health has taken a turn for the worse, and he can no longer operate Mission with Bikes. Blum operated Mission with Bikes for 11 years, repairing and donating bicycles throughout the world. He launched the organization three years after his diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 1996.

Annino said the garage sale will feature tools, toys, household items and a "combo of this and that and a little bit of everything."
