Conejo Players to host auditions for musical
Actors should prepare a one-minute song

Conejo Players Theatre will hold auditions for "Once on This Island Jr." from 5 to 9 p.m. Sun. July 8 through Tues., July 10 at 351 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

If necessary, callbacks will be Wed., July 11.

Participants should prepare about one minute of a song with sheet music in the appropriate key; an accompanist will be provided. Instrumental CD accompaniment will be accepted. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for a dance audition, and be prepared to reading from the script.

A Caribbean adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid," the musical "sings and dances the story of Ti Moune, a young peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a young man from a wealthy family. When Daniel is returned to his people, the gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest to test the strength of her love against powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death."

Performances will be Oct. 6, 7, 10, 12, 13 and 14.
