Neighborhood Housing Services appoints new board member

Bertha M. Garcia has been appointed to the board of directors of the Neighborhood Housing Services of America, a national nonprofit lender based in Oakland, Calif., that focuses on revitalizing neighborhoods and strengthening communities across America.

Garcia has been on staff at Venturabased Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation for 19 years and also serves as the executive director of the Ventura County Community Development Corporation and director of Cabrillo's NeighborWorks America Home Ownership Center.

In addition to her role on the board of directors, Garcia will serve on the lender's loan and capital development committees.
