Primm wins national title

Cory Primm, a 2007 graduate of Westlake High, finished a storied high school track career when he won the boys' 800meter title at the Nike Outdoor Nationals at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C.

The UCLA-bound senior ran a time of 1:48.63, a new personal best. Primm held on to beat James Gilbreath of Bartlett, Tenn., who finished in second place at 1:49.98.

Earlier in the season, Primm won the CIF state title in the 800 for the second straight year at Sacramento City College.
