Below, front left, Patrick Lincoln, 14, of Bell Canyon, and Ellen Butterworth, 13, of Calabasas, are ready for the ham radio station in the science classroom to begin operation. Behind them are, left, R. C. Smith of North Hills, who began operating a ham radio in 1939, and Thomas Fakehany, a reserve captain with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. The school's ham radio program is one of the biggest in the nation. |
