Local musician receives top-notch endorsement

IN GOOD COMPANY- Liszt, Schubert, Chopin and Mahler are some of the great pianists who have received endorsement by famed Austrian piano maker Bösendorfer. Now Agoura Hills composer Alan Roubik joins their ranks. The announcement was made on May 31 at Keyboard Concepts in Thousand Oaks. Pianist and composer Alan Roubik of Agoura Hills joined the ranks of the world's master pianists and composers when he received the endorsement of the Austrian piano manufacturer Bösendorfer, considered the Rolls Royce of pianos.

"It is by far the most prestigious artist endorsement in the world," said Roubik," who's been playing the piano since he was 3.

Roubik is considered one of the worlds leading producers of healing music. Roubik's music has been featured on cable television and PBS and his compact discs have been distributed worldwide. He's built a large following in Japan, among other areas.

Major artists endorsed by Bösendorfer include Franz Liszt, Franz Schubert, Frédéric Chopin, Richard Wagner, Johann Strauss, Johannes Brahms, Franz Lehár, Gustav Mahler, Herbert von Karajan, Leonard Bernstein, André Previn and Victor Borge.

It takes over four years to build a Bösendorfer grand piano. Only about 300 are are made in a year.
