Rosentsweig wins Principal's Award
Rose Dunn, principal of Round Meadow Elementary School in Hidden Hills, nominated Rosentsweig for the honor. "He has a long career as an educator and was a contributing member of our team from the very beginning," she stated in the award application. "The award is given to adminwhat is best for students and get involved to ensure those effective practices locally and at the state level," Dunn said. She credited Rosentsweig with creating a school environment conducive t o a "high level of learning and thinking." "Steve radiates enthusiasm and joy for learning with his own zest for education, and he has a positive effect on all (those) around him- children, staff and parents," Dunn said. Prior to joining A.E. Wright as principal, Rosentsweig served for 13 years as an assistant principal for curriculum and instruction at Calabasas High School. "When he became principal at Wright middle school, Wright had 1,750 students, and our district responded to that load with a new middle school," Dunn wrote. "Steve was instrumental in maintaining high morale while he and the new school's principal divided Wright's staff, student population, equipment, supplies . . . every part of the campus . . . into two separate schools." Rosentsweig credited his success as a principal to the positive support he receives from the district, teachers, counselors, parents and students. He said the Parent Faculty Club has also been highly successful at the school. "I rely on leadership teams," Rosentsweig said. |
