'Blithe Spirit' floats into Theatricum Botanicum

The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum will present the Noel Coward classic comedy "Blithe Spirit" June 30 through Sept. 29, in rotating repertory with "The Tempest" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

According to producers, the play "is set in the country home of Charles Condomine, a remarried widower. A casual, witty evening among friends is transformed by a seance that conjures up the silvery ghost of Charles' first wife, who delights in wreaking havoc and hilarity among the living."

"Blithe Spirit" runs on selected Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 and 8 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m on Sun., Sept. 9 and 23. Call the theater for show dates.

Tickets are $20 and $25. Seniors, students and members of Equity pay $15 and $18. Children ages 6 to 12 are $8, and children under 6 are free.

Audiences at the Sat., Aug. 4 performance are invited to participate in a pre-show discussion at 2 p.m.

The theater is at 1419 North Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga.

The outdoor amphitheater is terraced into the hillside of the rustic canyon. Audience members are advised to dress casually (warmly for evenings) and bring cushions for bench seating. Snacks are available, and picnickers are welcome before or after the performance.
