New owners at Sports LTD
The family owned business Sports LTD is changing ownership after 42 years at the same location, 22642 Ventura Blvd. in Woodland Hills.

The only year-round, snow skiing specialty shop in California is being sold by Bob and Pat Bergstrom to Steve and Melissa Crane, employees for the past 21 years.

Bob Bergstrom opened the store in 1965 with a $5,000 loan from his mother. Bergstrom has opened six other Sports LTD stores in Southern California.

Sports LTD began a children's tradein program in 1965 allowing parents to purchase used or new ski equipment and get a guaranteed trade-in value of 50 percent the following year.

All employees, including one who has worked with the store for 31 years, will remain with the store after the ownership change.
