Chabad of the Conejo will celebrate 28 years with banquet, performance
Tribute planned for Steve and Linda Wasserman

HONORED- Steve and Linda Wasserman will be recognized for their leadership in the community at the Chabad of the Conejo's annual gala on June 12.
Chabad of the Conejo will host its annual Gala Banquet at 5:30 p.m. Tues., June 12 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.

The banquet will celebrate Chabad's 28th anniversary in the Conejo Valley.

The gala this year is titled "A Call To Leadership" and will be followed by a performance in the Kavli Theatre with Moshav Band as well as Marc Salem and his Broadway show, "Mind Games Extra- On Second Thoughts."

Chabad will pay tribute to Steve and Linda Wasserman, the honorees at this year's gala.

"Steve and Linda are truly deserving of this prestigious award" said Rabbi Moshe D. Bryski, executive director of Chabad. "This is a couple deeply concerned with the material and spiritual welfare of others. They are true community leaders who have given of their time, energy and benevolence to ensure a more vibrant and educated Jewish community for all of us. Their endless acts of kindness have not gone unnoticed."

A Chesed Award will be presented to Shawn and Letal Skelton for their kindness, compassion and sacrifice for others.

The Community Leadership Award will be presented to Shawn and Dorna Nili. Shawn Nili is the owner of NW Rugs and has demonstrated concern and commitment for the needs of the community.

A special Achievment Award will be given to Roye Ashkenazi of the Friendship Circle.
