Democrats schedule events

Local Democratic Party groups have planned events for June.

+The Democratic Club of Conejo Valley will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wed., June 13 at the Newbury Park Library, 2331 Borchard Road, Newbury Park.

At 7 p.m. Emily Gold, field director for state Sen. Sheila Kuehl (D-Santa Monica), will give details of Senate Bill 840, the single payer health initiative.

Also during the meeting, Penny Strowger, director of Ventura County's One Care Now organization, will announce the June 30 action event in Thousand Oaks.

+The Democratic Women's Council of Conejo Valley will hold a brunch from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sat., June 16 at Boccaccio's Ristorante, 32123 Lindero Canyon Road, on the lake in Westlake Village.

Dr. Rochelle Sechooler will present "The Psychology of Political Persuasion."
